Approaches Peter Uses

Peter uses a variety of well regarded practices to help you. He uses Person Centred Counselling, which means you and your situation are the main focus, not the counsellor or the style of counselling. He will sometimes also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, elements of Transactional Analysis, and Existential Psychotherapy to help you find ways to cope with challenging life events, and to reclaim your life.

Working with couples, Peter will use some parts of the approach of David Snarch’s “Passionate Marriage”, which is about both of you being individuals as well as part of a couple, and Transactional Analysis, which helps with communicating well.

Despite his experience with these techniques, he appreciates it isn’t the method that matters most; it’s the way you and he work together as partners to solve problems.
